The Forex Noob

It’s hard to determine who is a good guy and who is out to get you. I came across Mark Larson when initially researching forex trading and I think he’s one of the Good Guys of forex.

Mark makes videos and sends them via email to those who sign up for his free group. His videos range from how to create your own forex system to how to spot forex scammers. Here’s where you can go to sign up for his videos.

Mark also has forex broker reviews, forex expert advisers reviews and gives unbiased forex info on his Forex Systems Reviews site.

I checked out a few forex forums and according to the posts Forex Deal Butler has the $4.95 non-refundable initial fee to try the EA then they charge your credit card another $2,100 unless you cancel within 10 days. I will not be testing this product.

Most of the posts I found placed Forex Deal Butler in the scam category.

I like the idea of Forex Deal Butler , a Green Light, Red Light expert adviser that leaves the actual trading up to you. But, that means you have to be at your computer paying attention when the green light flashes. If this system is great why not turn it into an EA? And at $2100 and with the negative press I’ve seen I’d be hard pressed to purchase it.

I received another update email from the Albert Perrie & John Grace team at Forex MegaDroid. First they have what appears to be live trade updates posted here. It shows positive trades so I am wondering why mine has yet to make a trade.

In addition their email lists answers to what I am sure are questions they are receiving. Here’s part of the email.

I appreciate the updates and answers. They now address the EURUSD only issue, the fact that Forex MegaDroid does not trade on Fridays and Sundays, that’s new info for me, and a couple error codes.

It also suggests setting the chart time frame at 1H. It suggests this setting. What effect will a 1M or 4H setting have on results?

Oops, I missed it, I missed the trade made by Forex MegaDroid.

On April 2nd at 1:09a EST Forex MegaDroid made a trade, went short closing up 10 pips for $40. What I find interesting is that if it had gone long at 1.3247 it could have closed at 1.3523 a couple hours later.

I admit that I don’t understand fully how these fores EAs work but if Forex MegaDroid truly runs forex AI and “sees 2-4 hours into the future” wouldn’t this be the kind of trend it would catch? OK, nothing is perfect but……

Also, the chart was set at 1M. Could this have effected the Forex MegaDroid crystal ball?

Each morning I check the FAPTurbo and Forex MegaDroid I have running on demo accounts and give a quick post of their results. FAPTurbo trades mostly over night EST during less active times. Forex MegaDroid developers claim it will trade profitably during non-volatile or volatile times.

Last night FAPTurbo made 5 trades for a profit of $60.35. It was nice to see positive results. I’m sure that over the long run FAPTurbo will deliver but my experiance has been up and down with a lot of down.

Forex MegaDroid has yet to make a trade on either demo accounts I have it running on. I know the email sent out by Albert Perrie and John Grace, the developers of Forex MegaDroid, said it maybe a day or two before the first trades but this is very anticlimactic.

Think about it from a human expectation perspective…a product is marketed as the greatest thing since sliced bread then it does nothing for days. We all may understand the logic but the emotional fall is very great.

Forex MegaDroid may turn out to be a great product but more and better information is warrented initially to ward off any hugely negative press. Right now I’m somewhat less than neutral on Forex MegaDroid after all I laid out my money and to date have seen no benifits in return.

My own trades – last night I couldn’t hold back and place a few orders in spot Gold. I couldn’t help myself, I say a huge trend and jumped. Early evening I was up over $1000. This morning my still open positions are up another $857. I even opened a few more positions to to take some quick profits. I love trading Gold!

I plan to contact the Forex MegaDroid customer service today and see if the nontrading issue is my doing or the robots.
